Comment: Though this sphene comes from Madagascar it is very close to the golden yellow sphenes that come from Pakistan and are called "titanite". As always, it shows the most (and we mean "most' as in "better than anything else") fascinating luster with a rainbow of colors blasting from a green-yellow base. See the night photo. There is only one inclusion (sitting vertical to the face) which is visible when the stone is tilted but only for the eagle-eyed observer. Other than that, the stone is exceptional clean. Because a few back facets are not 100% accurate in their meeting points this cut missed the final category of a "precision cut' but is as good as perfect. The hardly visible inclusion makes it more affordable. While big high-end titanites can bill over 1k/carat, this beauty comes at only $300/carat. Bargain for an extraterrestrial gemstone marvel. A must in any gemstone collection. See night image.
