Comment: From the depth of time, as the Himalaya rose out of the magma, comes this "rutilated" peridot. The needles in this particular gem are fine and delicate, sitting through-out the gems in different angles and layers. As such they are only just visible to the unaided eye, scatter the light and produce an extra intense green. Gemologically spoken the needles are from Vonsenite-Ludwigite, a mineral that is found in peridot only from in the Himalayas. Very unique; as special as it gets in the gem world and that means a lot. Collector item but also terrific to see in jewelry. High-end peridot matching Burmese quality.
