Comment: Those who know minerals will confirm that here you are looking at probably the rarest mineral of all: Red beryl aka red emerald or Bixbite from Utah. The crystal itself is over 1 cm long and 8x6mm in width and of cabochon or even facet quality. We estimate the net weight of the beryl is over 5 carat and, for red beryl, that means it is massive! Rich red with a tingle of purple. Exceptional. We have acquired 5 rough pieces and want to keep two in a natural crystal shape. The other three are going to be facetted.
