Comment: To the novice it comes as a surprise that blue topaz (natural blue) is actually amongst the rarest finds in our gem-world. Here is a greenish-blue topaz as it came from a riverbed in the high-lands of Sri Lanka a few years a go. Forget London-blue if you don't want a radiated gem. This is almost as blue as it gets in natural topaz. Ignore the hue in handshot. Its shape calls for a big pendant. Slightly windowed though well cut in Germany, but the window reproduces the trillion shape. Free of inclusions. Rare earth. A lot of color in topaz for a bargain. We can discuss a recut to close the center and keep the color if you are game for a gem adventure. The result may be a perfect natural blue topaz of 2 carat.
