Comment: This 4.28 came with a surprise: I shot the first images in our usual daylight settings, showing a nice sunset gem, orange soft pink, but then I took it to the clarity grading, done under harsh artificial light, and looked into a cold metallic pink (as far as pink can be 'cold') with no orange, no yellow nor any other 'softer' hues, and no more sunset here! I went back to the camera and spent another hour investigating and shooting different images. The verdict: This is a metallic pink Tourmaline, with the quirk of softening in some light (and for the camera) to milder salmon hues. See 'more images' where the camera picks up an almost violet gem. Dah! No gem is like the next. Personally, I love these little eccentricities of untreated gems even if they cost me so much more work. BTW: One reason why you see so few untreated gems in ready-to-wear-jewellery is precisely because treatments standardize colours and mass-production lives off standardisation (many other reasons come to mind, especially availability and cost but colour standardisation is one). That said, and back to business, we have a precision cut, free of inclusions, untreated pink Tourmaline (not Rubellite) in classic Tourmaline cut, full size, no window and with DSEF certified for $850/ct. Whatever the 'true' colour evading the camera, it is always beautiful and 100% natural.
