Comment: Custom-cut for 'us-only' from facet-quality untreated Brazilian rough. 'Facet quality' meaning that it would, by default, be cut into upper market facetted gems but here was worked into cabochons, a shape that is normally the fallback for included, translucent or opaque crystal quality. We ordered these specials years ago but lost track till last month (logistical mismanagement is more excusable in goods without expiry-date but with in-build time-added-value). Made for the adventurous, here is the essence of water or ice captured in a drop of stone. Unsurprisingly, all 'essence' is a tough customer to the photographer. For a change, AIGS did better than us on their report cards. A sphere of bright greenish blue dense yet ethereal matter. In a gent's platinum ring with a bezel and closed bottom or surrounded by a thin diamond-halo in a WG pendant, you will have your own page in the book of eccentric jewelry designs, not posh or flashy but ice-cold and deadly confident. Such one-only designs express personality far better than a pair of not-so-limited-edition sneakers. The latter you hardly dare to use as footwear, while the former will last forever as jewelry, till your grand-kids can be thankful (should they deserve it).
