Comment: Deep blue sapphire to crown a massive gent's ring. Flat oval base under an irregular mountainous dome. Light playing on the polished slopes and ridges, seemingly changing the gem's shape with every move. IGI testified 'Untreated Burma', an honor for every sapphire, even more so well over ten carats. Navy blue, never-ever black, nor violet, grey or purple. Evenly distributed hue, no zoning. Our first gem shaped to help in a fist-fight; though we don't endorse violence, except in the righteous defense of self or deserving others (not to be confused with 'self-righteous defense'). Naturally, we hope this gem's good karma will shield you from any such trouble! If not (karma can be unpredictable) sapphire's nine Mohs hardness will, at last, be of powerful and law-abiding use. But let's return to more classic gem features: Under the lens, a translucent crystal with needles and internal structures becomes visible (see close-up images). Obviously, this is not a jolly-glitter party-gem but a stern character; eye-catching, yes, giant, with close to twenty carats and the one-of-a-kind mountainous shape. Note we have an extra image (where the gem appears not oval) which shows the underside, less polished and rough-looking. A noble massive sapphire; one that, BTW, I would love to wear myself, though I'm sworn not to start down that road; otherwise I'll end up as a Christmas-tree: colorful but out-of-business in January.
P.S. We would be honored to design a sturdy platinum- or WG-ring for this remarkable specimen. Given that chance, we offer a complimentary laser-engravement onto the gem: your name, a personal message, a motto, or simply 'Unheated Burma". THAT would truly be part of your very own legacy.
