Comment: A deep-dark unheated sapphire and with an uncommon color-change spectrum between green-brown at day and red-purple at night. Medium-Dark 85 really is on the dark side of town, hence this gem appreciates lots of light, demanding attention and indepth study for its color-change. It is NOT a gem for quick and easy consumption. Typically, the green-red variety is found in East-Africa, though this sapphire was mined in Sri Lanka, again demonstrating that plate-tectonic is real and that India and Africa once were neighbors. Though our 3xNo policy is fulfilled (no treatment, no inclusions, no window) the gem's deep tone makes it a bargain for a jewelry-sized unheated sapphire and a great study for the aspiring gemologist.
