Comment: Here is the rare Mali-only combination of grossularite and andradite in a golden yellow-green hue and unusual size. Mali garnets combine the off-chart luster of andradites (demantoid) with the rich color potential of grossularite (from golden to yellow and green). This 3.41 carat is on the big side of Mali-garnets, usually found between, or under, one to two carats, but this a deep gem, delivering an accordingly rich shade while also looking for a high-reaching setting (if a ring is in your mind). No window, perfectly hand-cut, no inclusions, and untreated with a full IGI report. Not a primarily flashy color but the powerful luster of demantoids pulls attention. The artful Portuguese cut with at least 136 facets was an ideal choice for this gem. A yellow gold setting would add to the gem's rich color and luster.
