Overall Grade: Very Good
Comment: Not many rubellite, or pink tourmalines, come from Sri Lanka, and this is not the typical rubellite that we may see from Africa, no deep purple reds, nor pinkish reds, but a soft orange pink, almost a pastel character. In the hand-shot the bottom-part takes up yellow from the skin-hue, but this disappears when the gem is 'free-floating'. In a setting, free-floating, it plays delightful mixtures of orange in pink, hints of purple in orange, yellow in orange, and yellow in pink. IMO, trillion is the best cut for such light delicate colors, catching every ray of light and bringing it back with all shades, if, as in our favorites, without window, without visible inclusions, and most importantly from all-natural colors.
