Comment: Similar to 1.43 in color-change, violet-purple at day to red-pink at night, not the green/blue to red/purple alexandrite type. Also, similar in weight, but different in shape, the making a pair would need re-cutting, which wouldn't hurt either gem. This here 1.37 is almost round, at first sight, but not precise, as in 'hand-cut' not precision-cut. Also, different from the alex-type CC is the stable beautiful hue in any light, because not much can go wrong if you mix pink and purple, while, on the other hand, mixing green and red can get rather muddy, color-wise. This makes it a good jewelry gem for somebody who is not exclusively excited about a gemological wonder but also wants an always good-looking gem (with nothing muddy in-between). Surprisingly for Tanzanian CC garnet, it is free of inclusions, even under the lens. Ignore the color on the IGI report, it's totally off. Those who are blessed, or cursed, with a very critical eye may want to discuss a window, the round area in the center, perhaps one or two millimeter across, not significant enough to complain but neither small enough for us to ignore, even if most will not notice it at all, not without the critical eye and a close-up pro study. Also, an appropriate setting may close the window for good. Nevertheless, this little flaw is the only issue that separates this gem from an 'excellent'. If you are game, we can recut 1.43 and this 1.37 to a 5mm round matching pair; you may then own the one-and-only CC garnet precision-cut pair in the world.
