Comment: Here it clearly shows why topaz is amongst the most beloved gems used by lapidary artists. They (the topaz, not the lapidaries) have good optical qualities, less so than diamonds or sphene but good enough, and are reasonably priced even in bigger sizes, at least without natural colors, and have a good market recognition (everybody knows 'topaz' as a precious gem, right?). This master-cut combines the two opposing principles of nature: the straight line versus the curve (or as Camille Paglia would see it, men versus nature). The number of angles and light-positions producing beautiful images is endless, a nightmare for somebody with limited time-budget per gem. However, without colors, let alone pleochroism, color-change or asterism, a half dozen images are enough to present the main sights. A few facts to summarize: the gem is pure white, with zero inclusions, no window, no treatments, is not too big for a ring but big enough for a visible pendant, and IGI certified. Perfect in all dimensions - the only reason that it does not get a double '++' behind its overall grade of excellent is its lack of color and therewith the natural wealth of rough material. As always, our prices include all WildFish extras, WLT and NhRP donations, free global shipping, grading, 3rd party lab report.
