Comment: Our first sighting of a star padparadscha, ever. A star in the setting sun! Though not from Sri Lanka it convinces with a mild mélange of baby pink and orange. This gem is not only translucent (as are only the best stars), or opaque (like most stars), but nearly facet quality transparent! The torch light in the image over-emphasizes some colored layers. Only a few star padparadschas have ever been accounted for. Here is one.
After 7 years we found another star pad: http://www.wildfishgems.com/inc/sdetail/10826/19181
