Comment: Kunzites are a punishment for any honest gem photographer. IMHO. Or, more precisely, unheated kunzites are, because their tone is so bright and their hue so delicate, it easily gets lost on camera, despite their princess-pink charm in person. This specific gem adds a slender window and a few barely visible inclusions to the photographer's pain. Those inclusions are hard to find under the lens but on photo they occupy the crystal as if it were all silky (which it isn't). Big face-up, no heat (treatments makes kunzites bubble gum pink), almost no window, and eagle-eye-lens-only inclusions. Discounted down to replacement cost (incl. overhead). It could be precision re-cut down to four carats. The 'chip' mentioned in the IGI report is not a real chip, but, under the lens, a crystal that was cut out of the girdle's edge.
