Comment: Deepest orange-brown topaz in a big pear cut, almost Medium Dark 90 in the corners but perfectly golden in the centered (see close-up). The strong color-zoning, abruptly visible when studied under the lens and from certain, exact angles, plays tricks on the eye at normal arm-lengths distance; then moving areas from bright yellow over golden-brown to dark chocolate black (the bitter 80% type). This might sound complicated but is obvious when you see the gem in person. More importantly, the dark chocolate zoning helps with the price tag but does not harm the gem's overall beauty with its deep golden-brown and 100% clean crystal. If this gem were of the classic bright orange-yellow type, let alone the pinkish-orange imperial topaz, the ticket would go straight into five digits. Nevertheless, an outstanding beauty in XXL. Obviously, a pendant gem, loving light but always sparkly even in the lowest light setting. 3xNo: No inclusions, no window, no treatments. Reminds of warm, or in truth very hot, reflections of bubbling lava, glowing embers or molten gold.
P.S. Treated quartz of this color is sometimes sold as 'Madeira Topaz' but that is a misnomer, to put it politely.
