Comment: Deep lavender purple spinel in XL size, roundish oval cut, free of inclusions, no window, and no treatments. Photogenic gem, meaning it is easy to photograph in glowing colors but it will be more shy in person, a difficult case for a seller: not to make too nice images of this classic Ceylon spinel and its cold purple. MD75 is a shade darker than the images suggest. The local cutter did an excellent job, delivering over 10mm without even the slightest idea of a window. Study the handshots, this is not a vivid shiny but a dark purple gem (not as bright as in the image of the lab report for sure). Size, clarity and cut would push this spinel into a significant price level, at least for a purple spinel, yet we honestly downgraded it (despite the fine photos) to only $600/ct.
