Overall Grade: Very Good

Comment: Bright green apatite, a little known but up-and-coming gem variety which is used to replace paraiba and tsavorite in less expensive jewellery. They do make a good show, but be aware that neon blue is deep-fried and thus brittle. Also note, they have a lower gravity than say sapphire so 1.8 carat gets you an already big gem (here 8x7). Fine green gem comparable to grossularite garnet or sparkly tourmaline. Less (in fact hardly any) yellow than 2nd image shows. Oval when measured, but near round at first sight. Good starter gem for a green collection or jewellery on a budget.
